512Solar installed our solar panels with back-up batteries six years ago. Since that time, we have made occasional calls for minor maintenance issues that were resolved almost immediately over the phone or with a quick visit from 512Solar. The owner, JP, is a gracious person who is very easy to work with. I'm a retired person, so I've worked with a lot of contractors over my lifetime and I have to say that JP was the best! (Also, it was really great having the back-up batteries for the winter storm of 2021, we got 12 more hours of heat than our neighbors).

I am not an expert on solar panels. But I have degree in electrical engineering so I understand a lot of the details. When I went shopping I built spreadsheet and compared offerings from 5 different installers. I compared price/performance, degradation quality and a number of other features. In order to get some of this information I had to call and talk to the installers. I found 512 Solar very knowledgeable, they really know their products. They also had the best price for the panels I wanted. The installation went smoothly and they showed me the features of my inverter. After a few months my inverter started having issues. We were able to reset it, but after this happened a few times 512 Solar replaced it. They stand behind their installations. I have had my new inverter for almost 3 years now with no issues. I like being able to see my energy generation on my phone app. I am considering buying solar panels on a rental home I own (I pay the electric bills) and 512 Solar is the only company I have called.

The team at 512 Solar, including JP and Huiyan were exceptional. The followed through on all aspects of the solar panel project, from planning to ordering to installation and follow-up. I was fully educated to make the best decision for my home and budget. The roof inspection ahead of time showed me they go the extra yard to ensure that all aspects of the project were attended to. I felt that their highest goal was to deliver what I needed and what was best for the house; and they achieved that goal. The owner (JP) and the entire team at 512 Solar are the most professional contractors (not just solar) that I have ever used. JP provided expert technical information during our initial meeting. There was no BS salesman talk with no technical knowledge like several other companies in town. JP provides all the technical details, explains all the options, and provided a great price using top-quality equipment. They use an excellent online project management app to show tasks and communicate updates. They guide you through all the Austin Energy and Federal forms that need to filed, too! The installers showed up on time and did great work! I could not be more pleased!

We are very glad we had our solar panels installed by 512 Solar 1 1/2 years ago. The electric output has actually been greater than anticipated. We called JP this week, because I thought a squirrel was making a nest under one panel. He came out within 24 hours and humanely removed the baby squirrels (now with Wildlife Rescue) and destroyed the nest. I was very happy with his quick response.
