Absolutely amazing barbeque spot, Justin and Patrick outdid themselves by providing phenomenal service, mouth watering meats, refreshing beverages and satisfying sides and desserts! The restaurant was fairly quiet this evening, however it was -1F outside so I assume most of everyone celebrating Valentine's this evening were probably snuggled up by a fire, but not us, my husband and I were determined to indulge in some delicious barbeque this evening and that we did! By the hands of Justin and Patrick we enjoyed the following: ½ lb Smoked Pastrami ½ lb Smoked Brisket ½ lb Smoked Tri-Tip A side of Potato Salad A side of Cornbread with a layer of custard A side of Banana Pudding A side of Tiramisu 2 Boylan Rootbeers And 1 Grimm Stout draft beer served in a chilled ball jar The brisket would just melt in our mouths, and the pastrami was seasoned, smoked and cooked to perfection, the reviews were nothing short of accurate. Tri-Tip is certainly an underrated meat and to my surprise, was handled very well here. It wasn't dry, it wasn't overseasoned, it was everything I had ever wanted in a smoked Tri-Tip experience! Well done gentlemen. Another exciting part of our experience was that all of the house made barbeque sauces were all absolutely amazing! It's so rare to come across a sauce lineup so good you wind up using them all til the very end. Each one of the sauces paired real well with each of the meats, giving each bite a unique flavor. I wasn't overwhelmed by the portions, nor was I underwhelmed. Everything was spot on and again, hands down one of the best services we've received in such a long time. Thank you Justin and Patrick for making our night incredible in your hands. Some menu items were sold out at the time of our service which is just another wonderful indicator that this place makes amazing eats! We will definitely be returning and at a more appropriate time to enjoy those fan favorites!

Texan here ...Y’all— this is the place! My only complaint is that I’ve been driving down to Rudy’s in Colorado Springs to get my bbq fix, because I didn’t know you could get legit bbq in Denver. Tried the brisket— so good! And that homemade sauce! If a place makes their own banana pudding, you get it. Just going to go ahead and be honest— that banana pudding is the best banana pudding I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Request— for my complete Texas heart, add some potato salad to the menu. I know y’all will do it right. Thank you for making my Texas belly happy!

Great place! Ordered takeout, got brisket, chicken, burnt ends sandwich, green chile and cornbread. It was great! They have 4 kind of barbeque sauce, our favorites were the jalapeno and the (Memphis?) Gold. The corn bread has a layer of custard in it, and is so good. Quality meats and well prepped. I can't wait to go back and try some more!

So glad we discovered this hidden gem in our neighborhood! In particular, the brisket and smoked turkey (not dried out like at most places) stand out. My sister is a vegetarian yet loves AJ's because of the outstanding mac 'n' cheese, coleslaw, and cornbread! Definitely worth a visit.

Delicious BBQ with very lovely staff. Very cute back outside area with heaters. We had the ribs, brisket, mac and cheese, and a cider. All for 30! And we left with two very full people at the end.
