Waiting for them to open back up to the public... We understood closing for 2020, but now most people understand social distancing and being outside is sufficient for safety. I won’t be contributing until then! My kids loved going there.

I have fallen in love with this place! The staff are very informative, friendly and welcoming! It is not staffed daily, only during the migration in the spring and fall, and that is weather dependent too. You cannot visit unless the area is staffed. It is private property.

Learn about nature from nature enthusiasts. The volunteers are glad to help inform and educate visitors. Bring your own binoculars, camera or telescope.

This is my favorite and the westernmost of Pennsylvania’s hawk watch sites. Hawk Mountain is legendary and has awesome views, but the views here are spectacular as well and you don’t have to perch on a pile of sharp rocks to see them. This is also the best place in PA to see Golden Eagles in fall migration, particularly in late October through early November when the winds are out of the East. The East wind will push the raptors against the front of the Allegheny Mountains providing hawk watchers eye-level views of these magnificent birds of prey. When coming here, be prepared. Winds are much stronger here than in the valley and the wind chill will make you cold quick without cold weather gear. There are no food establishments nearby so bring a picnic lunch. There is one port-a-john on site. If the weather is bad, the gated entrance will be closed otherwise the site is usually open to the public. A word of note, this is a privately owned site generously open to the public. Please treat the area with respect and care and it will continue to remain available to all.

Awesome overlook ! There is a gate going back to the overlook that is usually open. There is a parking area back by the overlook. The overlook is on private property but the owner of the land is very generous by allowing people to come enjoy the beautiful scenery. Be considerate and don't throw trash or act in a way that will cause the owner to rethink his generosity !

Awesome place. Peaceful with great views of the surrounding area. There are also benches if you didn't remember a chair.

Beautiful views. We saw some hawks and even an eagle. The counters are very knowledgeable and call out when a bird comes into view. The only downside was that the area was over run with ladybugs. They were all over us.

Saw more monarchs migrating than birds this day, but worth it just for the view alone. Earlier in the week over 5000 birds reported. Do not, I repeat, do not take Lambert Rd from the Bedford County side of the mountain unless you have 4WD or don't mind losing the undercarriage of your car.
