I haven’t tried a new restaurant in months, so was thrilled to discover Chic Chick. They specialize in Hainanese chicken and just opened in March 2020. The poached chicken is a family recipe served with delicious house made dipping sauces like scallion garlic and garlic ginger. “The Classic” is perfectly poached chicken with flawless, toothsome rice and I also loved the chilled soba with chili lime sauce. Meals come with a light, cleansing soup on the side. There are also lots of special teas to taste like Osmanthus and white peach. I will definitely be back, as I really enjoyed how flavorful and filling, but still light everything was - I also want to support this new restaurant that opened right at the beginning of Covid. I did not know about Hainanese cuisine before and am glad this inspired me to do some research and learn more!
been looking for a decent hainanese chicken place. this one was decent, but not as good as the other reviews made it appear. the green garlic scallion sauce was oddly bitter, and the chicken was not seasoned at all, not even salt, so there was no flavor without dipping it into sauce. not sure if it was a mistake and i just had bad luck? rice was very good. soup was okay.
What a great little place that just opened up!!!! khao man gai / hainanese chicken is one of my favorite authentic Thai dishes. It’s soup chicken served with rice cooked in the soup broth with different sauces on the side(spicy and soy). It’s not easy to find a restaurant that does it and to find one that does it so well is even better!!!! If you are anywhere near Allston stop in or order online. I ordered the classic with extra chicken thigh and will definitely be coming back!
I phone a head at 3pm. It was ready within 20 minutes. Pick up was very smooth and fast. They had face mask and gloves on. The packaging was nice and cute. I got the Double Double which had thigh and Beast. They came three sauces. The sweet soy sauce, Scallion Garlic Sauce and Garlic Ginger Sauce. My favorite was definitely the Garlic Ginger Sauce. It was spicy and packed with favor. It's definitely worth a try because you won't find much places that do hanianse chicken rice. Portions was good and pricy was reasonable.
INCREDIBLE. Heaven on earth. I’ve never been to Singapore, but I had lots of Hainanese chicken in HK. There aren’t too many places you can get it in Boston, but this is the best one I’ve tried so far. The rice has the perfect level of stickiness and is perfectly flavored. The chicken thigh is very moist but not soggy. Worth the 30 minute bike ride.
