DO NOT bring your loved ones here if you can help it. My grandmother was brought to the ER via an ambulance for shortness of breath and Covid prevented any of us from accompanying her. My grandmother, who had dementia and didn’t speak any English, was all alone in the ER and it took hours of being on hold and being transferred to the wrong departments to finally track someone down for an update on her status. I actually had to call back twice, only to be placed on hold for over an hour each time after I was mistakenly transferred to external numbers, one of which was a mortuary. I understand that it’s a grueling time for the healthcare industry, but all of the nurses I spoke to (except for one) were extremely rude and lacked any compassion at all for us worried family members—they really could use some sensitivity training. Their only saving grace is that she was sent home on hospice when they couldn’t do anything more for her, so she at least didn’t pass away alone in a cold hospital.

I had contracted Covid and developed extreme difficulty breathing (felt like painful drowning). I went to this hospital and they took a urine test, a covid test and chest x-rays. They then stuck me on a cot for 3 hours and no one talked to me until I told reception that breathing was getting too painful. A nurse finally came by and handed me an inhaler, gave me a lecture, told me to take vitamin C to combat the Covid and sent me on my way. Three days later, I was hospitalized at a different (better) hospital for 5 days because I had Covid pneumonia. The staff said I wouldn't have made it another day if I hadn't come in and they don't understand how West Anaheim Medical Center sent me home in the condition I was in. I had to be put on a respirator, steroids, antibiotics, 2 blood transfusions, and more. I really wished I skipped going to West Anaheim Medical Center because they literally just sent me home to die.

I believe this hospital and the staff is amazing. It's so weird that some people gave good feedback but gave a low star rating when it should have been a 5 Star. Anyway, my daughter Victoria has been here, she had a great experience. My girlfriend Nancy has been here and had a great experience. I came in with an allergic reaction and couldn't breath, they took good care of me. I am thankful for the Doctors, nurses and everyone that works here. May God bless you.

My relative was brought here to ER to be checked after a fall. His neck was fine, but they found out that his bowels were impacted, and helped him. He’s recently been to other ER’s that never checked. I’d like to thank them because he’s so happy now! Also, the ER nurse on the phone was extremely pleasant, and told me exactly how he was doing so that I wouldn’t worry. A ER service!!
