One of the more challenging hikes I’ve done, but the challenge and view at the top is well worth it! The top is very spacious and open with plenty of space to move around and rest for awhile. Prepare to do some scrambling as you near the end of the trail - lots of climbing up rocks! Plan about 5 or so hours for this hike. Very strenuous trail but definitely one of the best that Phoenix had to offer!

Great hike/climb that is as beautiful as it is challenging. Gloves are definitely helpful once you get to the section that is a bit of rock climbing. It is an easy trail to lose but it's also easy to get back on track.

Toughest hike I've ever done! Well worth it. You will need to be aware of where the trail goes on the way up or you can get lost. The way down was much easier to follow for some reason. It took me 5.5 hours total and the trail was consistently busy. Love the views and the accomplishment!

Flatiron is wicked. Prepare to destroy your sense of comfort. You will hurt the next day and will be tender for the rest of the week. But you will be amazed at the microclimate of fauna tucked into the draw. The rock slab halfway up, with a chute like a slide through the middle where you can imagine thousands of gallons per minute flowing during a monsoon. At the top, it’s like a playground. Acres and acres of formations jutting upward, and that iconic point you can walk right up to the edge of and dangle your feet, if you wish. Parking is like... 7 or something. I think there’s a nearby neighborhood you can prob choose free parking instead with a little research. In the parking lot, there are covered areas, bathrooms, bbq pits and some picnic tables. I don’t recommend doing this hike alone. It will take you most of the day including time exploring the peak, which I do recommend.

This is the hardest hike in Phoenix but the view is worth the climb. You get a great overlook of Apache Junction and surrounding Superstition area. Plan to spend at least 5 hours on the trail if you're fit and are an experienced hiker.
