Delicious cake! We ordered a taro flavored cake with peanut butter icing topped with coconut flakes. Yes, a strange combo, but I was curious. The icing had a very strong peanut flavor and wasn't too sweet. The cake was delicious, but the taro flavor was very light even when eaten on its own. It resulted in a very peanut flavored cake, sadly. Planning to get taro flavored icing with the taro cake next time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The store has a big divider on the counter, with a slot to push through the baked items. Update: The taro whipped cream cake is absolutely delicious!!

Great local bakery. Love the cookie ice cream sandwiches. (The ginger snap ones are my favorite) The oaty chocolate chip cookies are my favorite in the area. Macaroons are a great treat and they do a lovey cake. Always friendly service.

We love coming in here for a quick sugary treat. Usually, this comes in the form of a variety of fresh cookies. We are a big fan of their brown-butter chocolate chip cookies, as well as their oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, and cranberry walnut. They are always soft, flavorful, and most importantly available! (rarely sell out) Highly recommend for anyone in the neighborhood looking for a sweet treat.

One of my favorite new finds in Virginia! This is the Taro whipped cream cake (taro cake and taro whipped cream), known to me as a piece of heaven. I’ve never seen this at another bakery but these guys deserve a reward. Light and moist, not overwhelming and kept you wanting more. The Bakeshop has an endless menu of must haves. Other favs are the peanut butter-Nutella pudding and the key lime pie.
