I really want to like this place. It is my closest actual needlework shop. However since the son took over the buisness for his mother the orgional owner it's gone downhill fast. The lady that works there tries to be helpful but tells me he won't allow products to be restocked and is going more towards tourist-y t shirts and less craft supplies. I've been there multiple times and it is just slowly going downhill. Once I called ahead to make sure the fabric I wanted was in stock and drove over only to find mildew on fabric which was while the same color NOT what I was told was in stock and made the drive for. See attached photos. Embroidery floss is cheap but there's a full selection of Anchor Floss in the quilt shop in Keokuk vs this getting lower every day stock. They no longer cary nice needles there either. If you are a knitter/crocheter you will cringe at the lack of tools and selection of cheap acrylic yarn. Many of the hooks/needles/yarn bear price tags from other craft store like the left over clearance items no one wants that they are. But hey if you need a cheap Nauvoo t shirt this is the place for you. IMO if you do needle work it is worth stopping ONLY if you are prepared to be disappointed and are going to Nauvoo anyway. I no longer hope they will have anything I need in stock but sometimes they still do have a few odd DMC colors or fabric remnants and it's a plesant suprise. The lady who works there is a gem and even if she doesn't have the power to order in anything I'd like she's always wonderful to talk to.
