Make sure that you arrive 3-4hrs before check out; because there's such an array to choose from!!! They had everything I needed & more!!! Plus my final project came out great!!! Keep in mind to bring ID to check in at the studio and remember its in the basement of the building. #KimTips #KimCStyles

For theater and opera buffs, don't miss a visit. Their Costume Collection is from donated productions from Shakespeare festivals, various theater productions, the Metropolitan Opera and many other groups. Try lifting a costume from a Met production. I did one from a 2009 Rigoletto- it must have weighed 20 lbs. You can take photos but no try-ons or purchases only rentals. Browsing is welcome and there is no charge. The collection is housed in an airy space in a sub basement at the Kaufman Astoria Studio complex.
The CC has been invaluable to me on so many occasions. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful; putting a show together there is always a good experience.
Wonderful collection of many period costumes. Don't go there expecting repeated costumes, but if you are looking for a leading man/lady outfit, this is the place to rent from. They have general stock and special stock, which includes the nicer pieces.
