At the time of this review, I’ve been involved with mixdeity for a little over 7 months, and I can honestly say the experience has been life changing. I’be been given the opportunity to utilize Mixdiety’s resources to follow my passion for Capoeira and offer classes. We now have the beginning of a thriving Capoeira community, and I’m in the process of making this my main source of income. The connections to an inspiring creative community and the outlet to create and collaborate are just incredible.
I wrote a post in a photography group looking for a church space for a video shoot that was less than 300. A man named Victor suggested Mixdeity and told me to fill out the form for a quote. I went back and forth on email, explaining that it wasn't a professional shoot, there would only be a couple people, no food, etc. Then silence. A few days later, someone texted me to follow up. They asked me the same questions. Again. They tried to sell me a membership and invited me to a meetup (in the middle of a pandemic). They asked me again to tour the space.i repeated that I'd been there under different owners and didn't need one - just a quote. Again - silence. Finally, over 2 weeks after first contact, I was told it was 200/hr on a weekday or 300/hr on a weekend. Nothing I said was a consideration. Just standard pricing. The man who texted me this said Victot had been let go a week ago. He asked if he could call me to set things right. I said no. He called me anyway. I didn't answer. We continued texting. If you sign up for a 15/month basic membership, you can rent it on a weekday for 100/hr. He refused to just rent me the space for 115/hr without signing up. I told him to do better. He said the best he could do was a one time half off pricing... which is membership pricing. Which I could get anyway. Without going through all this. Tldr; terrible customer service, 2 weeks to get a quote, then lies about wanting to make it up to me and not actually offering anything except excuses.
Excellent people with a bueatiful space. All the amenities (chairs, tables, electricity, ac, audio/visual...) were perfect for our community event. Will be recommending the space to any & everyone.
I host an annual Halloween costume party with 350 guests. Our prior venue, cancelled our reservation approximately two weeks before our date. This team was easy to work with and did all they good to bring my party to life! The party was great. The space was perfect for our needs! My party goers preferred this space to our usual space! I’ll be back!
Hosted a halloween party last night with attracted about 700 people. The owner was an absolute pleasure to work with, and the venue was beautiful. I enjoyed every interaction with Rock, and will be using this venue again. I was offered tours throughout the booking process, and was able to make use of all the space needed. Recommended to all my promoter buddies. Awesome time!
Mixdiety is a perfect venue for multiple events. I walked in prior to my event it was set up as a banquet hall it was absolutely nicely done. Then my event transformed into a 50's birthday event it was remarkable. Use your imagination and transform the venue to your needs, it in Grant Park area which is a safe neighborhood.
