I've never had a good experience at this HD tool rental location. Customer service is abominable on multiple fronts. The customer is always last, clearly an hourly who gives a sh!t position. If you leave there with a smile something is wrong. The attitudes from most associates would equal termination papers and would not be accepted in a traditional work place. Big box retail seems to foster these toxic environments where the customer should be grateful for their presence. Unfortunately there's not many options for rentals. The rental equipment works most of the time but don't be surprised if you have to go back to swap damaged rentals.
First of all, I go to Home Depot a lot and it’s a great place for your diy, but I recently had to pay more than I should have on my rental. I made a mistake renting a 20” compactor and could not use it, because it did not fit in the space I was working on. I rented a 20” compactor for 24 hrs, I went home and did some prep for about 2 hrs and started the compactor after and realize it doesn’t fit in between the garden bed, brought it back and was charge for 4 hrs even though I showed him it doesn’t fit and I didn’t use it. Asked him if I can get the 14” and he return the other and start new paperwork for the 14” one. Took 14” home and started compacting and it started choking and would not move, didn’t want to exchange it for another one again and pay more, so spent half an hour to figure out the filter was so bad that there are barely any air intake. I had to lift up the filter just so it can run normally again... returned the 14” and told him to replace the filter and he doesn’t even care. I was charge 1.5 x more than I should have for about six hours of rental...
