I highly recommend staying away from CalAtlantic/Lennar when buying a home in the Mueller neighborhood as well as avoiding their mortgage subsidiary Eagle Home Mortgage. We attempted to purchase a new row house through the affordable home program and had a terrible experience. There was such a lack of transparency and the inability to answer clear and direct questions from us and our realtor was very telling of the how the organization is managed. We were lied to multiple times (or at the very least seriously misled). The lack of responses to most of our emails and phone calls, being rude to us when they did respond was so unprofessional and unnecessary. We were trying to purchase one of their homes through their mortgage provider and they made the process so difficult and frustrating. We had previously purchased a David Weekley home in Mueller using First Centennial Mortgage and had such a smooth, clear, and easy process buying our first home. I highly recommend David Weekley Homes and First Centennial Mortgage. We were in the process of trying to move to a larger home with Lennar, but likely dodged a bullet not going further in the process with Lennar and Eagle Home Mortgage. It's not surprising at all to find out Lennar and Eagle Home Mortgage has gotten in trouble multiple times with the Department of Justice and Federal Housing Administration in the last few years.

Very unresponsive. I called and called. I filled out the online form. Finally I texted, got a bot and only then when I responded, did I get communication with a human. Plus they don't have a person or office on site at the neighborhood. Yuck.
CalAtlantic is developing homes in my neighborhood, and they are terrible neighbors. I have had three flats in the past year, due to nails their workers leave in the alleyway. They frequently block access to my garage. The erected a temporary fence on my property without asking me.
Many times some of the better looking homes from a design perspective, but service, value and quality are bad. In my opinion, you're better offer with another builder or a custom home.
If anyone is considering buying a CalAtlantic home in Mueller (a combination of the former Streetman Homes, Standard Pacific Homes and Ryland Homes), don't. I could write volumes about my experience, but I can best summarize it by recommending you fall in love with any other home/floor plan) except one built by CalAtlantic. Otherwise, you’re in for the worst customer service, significant construction delays, and even deceit, resulting in one of the most frustrating home building experiences ever.
