Originally reached out to shop because I liked Nick's style. Donny ended up reaching out and after telling him that, he said that everyone in the shop is very versatile in their style. Went to consultation, see attached photos for inspiration. I wanted a medusa tattoo, with florals. Donny said he had a good idea of what I wanted and we discussed it in great detail during the consultation. Paid 200 deposit, waited two weeks. He would not allow me to see what he was working on prior to appointment. When I arrived to the appointment at the time we agreed upon, he said I was early and that he thought he had told me to show up an hour later. He set up, had me sign consents before showing me artwork. Finally when he showed me the artwork, it was obviously done in Japanese style, which he confirmed. Not what I wanted at all, or what we discussed. He also took it upon himself to make all of the snakes viper snakes, which appeared phallic-shaped to me, and were not at all the type of snake that I had showed him or that we discussed at all. Donny is a nice guy and super talented, but he didn't really listen to me as a customer and I was really disappointed. He told me that I knew his style prior to consultation and that this was the way that he draws. He ended up keeping my deposit, even though I feel like I was completely misled since he told me from the getgo that he was able to be versatile. Edit: I also want to add that he did offer to rectify some of the aspects of the tattoo that i was especially unhappy with (eyes, snake heads) or to do another drawing, for an additional deposit. At that point, I think that we were both uncomfortable moving forward.
