I needed the help of law enforcement for some routine administrative requests, so I went to my local police station in New Garden Township (now called Chester Country Regional Police). Because what I needed is only scheduled once a week for a three-hour period, the next period of which would have been 6 days hence, I was politely shown the door and asked to come back in 6 days. I understand the need to manage the many requests that our men in blue must deal with. But I could hear several people talking in the back and it certainly didn't seem like they were too busy to help me out with a routine 10-minute task. In the end, I left and went over to Kennett Square Police, and they helped me out immediately and without an appointment.
