I had a completely different experience than Mr. Wade. I bought a bought where Joel Swan was the seller's broker. I looked into dropping the boat in water after the sale closed. Joel offered to meet Sat morning and Sunday night to drop the boat to support my weekend plan. I ended not doing it, but he was willing to do that for me when he had no obligation to do so. The boat has been delivered to me in Seattle. I got an email from Joel giving me some important tips and considerations for the boat. I've owned boats for 20 years, and this is my 4th boat, and I still found the info helpful. I live in Seattle, so there is little likelihood of return business with Ballast and Joel, but Joel did this anyway. I considered this to be above and beyond, especially for the seller's agent. I highly recommend Joel.
My girlfriend and I fell in love with boating through Freedom Boat club. After a couple years we decided to purchase our own fishing boat as well. Andy's expertise helped steer us in the right direction and find the perfect boat for our family. He has the experience, connections and ability to get the deal done, too --- along with a good amount of inventory he owns as well.
I have purchased a few boats from Andy Shoemaker at Ballast Point Yachts in San Diego. I only wished I had listened to Andy better on the first purchase. He is honest and detail oriented. His knowledge on boats is the best and has helped me in my ownership. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to purchase a quality powerboat.
Haven't bought a boat from Ballast, only work in the boat industry. Never worked with a guy like Andy (the owner). Great guy really cares about doing the right thing. Andy has no interest in cutting corners! Good person with a great reputation at Dayna Point Marina.
