Have you ever been yelled at when trying to give your money to someone to complete a service for you? I hadn't either! But if you'd like to, try Flying Fur Custom Meats. When my friends and I dropped off 4 deer there last November, which could have easily grossed them over 1,000...the IRATE owner literally screamed at us for trying to quickly remove the loins before they dragged the deer away. He then screamed at his employees, then screamed at his wife. He then wouldn't take two of my friend's deer because they were too dirty. That's fine, but don't berate us ("LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR F**KING ANIMALS!!!!") while you deny us service. Finally, they proudly don't "mix and match" specialty meats, so you better hope you like what you pick. I now have 25 lbs (over 200 worth) of salami in my freezer... not really what I envisioned. The salami is good, I'll give them that. Not good enough to take being cursed and screamed at in the parking lot though.

Randy is great. Always busy, but makes sure your taken care of. Great crew. And better sausage. If your impatient go get lied to by some of the others. Best game cutter in the Valley. Made my old elk cook tender. My deer is always quality. Had my business for years after always going to another.

Randy and Betty are amazing!! I shot my first ever bear and had no idea how to process it. Randy was the only butcher to say yes to processing a bear, no special conditions, just bring it in. I wasn't sure what I was going to want, so I asked Randy and Betty to guide me to the best choice. I have 2 types of bratwurst and 2 types of breakfast sausage. I simply do not have the words to describe, with any justice, how good this stuff is!! Thank you, Flying Fur, for doing such an amazing job!! Randy and Betty can, and should be, trusted with your next processing need.

As a former employee, the first processor that stuck out in my mind was Flying Fur. So when I was too short of time to cut up my elk, I took it there. Granted it was a bit dirty from the pack out, but being a 6x6 bull, I reckoned that there would still be a good portion of meat coming back to me. When I picked it up the cost was 275 and there were 2 boxes that maybe weighed 100# total and most of it was in burger. Needless to say, I thought that they would have treated me and my animal better than that. As it turned out, I could have done better for my family by taking the day off and doing it myself.

Save yourself the hassle!!!. Learn to cut up meat yourself. These meat cutters are babies. Never once in my life have I given people needing my service a hard time. Arrogant and rude! I don’t care if their product is so good it causes you to bust a nut! If a guy talked to me like that in public he’d have his face caved in! They don’t deserve one star. I’m buying my own knives!

Fantastic Experience! I had an elk processed by Flying Fur and was very impressed with the cleanliness, speed and, attention to detail that this outfit has. I felt taken care of as a customer and these folks can really make some sausage! I got more meat back than I ever have with other processing outfits in the state and would highly recommend them to any one looking to get their game processed.

I grew up next to a butcher shop that didn't handle their meat properly or keep things sanitary, and I can still remember how badly it stank when you walked inside. I didn't have that impression at all at Flying Fur. They have a cozy processing area that was very clean, and our meat was well marked as to the cuts we requested. The owners were very friendly, attentive, and answered all of our questions. I have no prior experience with other shops that process meat, but I would definitely return to Flying Fur, based on how we were treated and how the facility was set up. Edit: We just tried some of the chorizo sausage, and it is really tasty. It has a light spice flavor and a little bit of heat that kicks you, but fades really quick, so it's not too hot. Very satisfied. :)

If you are a first time buyer Randy (owner) will amaze you, but after that it goes DOWN HILL fast. We have been going there for 3 years, and this year we were not totally happy with the quality of some of the more expensive meats. Bottom line, if you don't like it; deal with it - not Randy's fault and or any customer service to make it right. All the negative reviews are 100% right on. Find a butcher who puts you first.
