On my recent visit to SF I heard about this place My hotel had a small kitchen so I was really happy I picked up from there I had sukiyaki cook at home kit for takeout. It was super easy to prepare, only taking 10-15 minutes. The A5 sukiyaki meat from Japan was like butter, just like the ones when I get in Japan. Highly recommended. I'll be back next time My new East Bay go to
Delicious, modern Japanese cuisine. Innovative dishes that aren't pretentious. I'll definitely be making many more visits to try everything they have.
Great customer care. I had a technical issue buying online (not their fault- I somehow made an error) and they promptly worked through on the phone with me to get it resolved even when their restaurant was obviously in their peak busy hours. Very kind and helpful. Would give them business any time!!

My favorite kind of izakaya - some fresh items (sashimi), some fried, and some a la carte items/specials. We got the sashimi moriawase and the fish was fresh and fatty. I added uni for 10. The wagyu sukiyaki was perfect for a chilly evening. Hot dashi broth filled with veggies: shiitake mushrooms, burdock, dandelion greens, tofu, and more. Dip in the thinly sliced wagyu until it's no longer pink then dip in the sou vide soft boiled egg as a savory sauce. The duck confit showed up late so we just had one bite and it had a nice, smokiness to the flavor. Drinks were well made and servers were friendly and prompt. Highly recommended!
We drive 1.5 hours from Sacramento for the wonderful food from Fish & Bird. During pandemic we get takeout and make at home items. All delicious. Today we picked up the makings for sukiyaki along with other items. So delicious!
