Unexpectedly large museum for an institution in Bismarck, ND. Very beautiful architecture. The front door greeter was very friendly and informative. The facility is extremely clean and well organized, they even have step stools for little ones to be able to see some of the exhibits. There was surprisingly no admission-fee, so we paid a visit to the gift shop and bought an awesome ceramic piece from a local artist afterwards. Very cool place to bring the family.

We were a group of different nationalities and we were welcomed enthusiastically by the staff and the entrance. A part from the section relevant to the dinosaurs, being from Italy it was really nice to have the opportunity to see things from a \different\ history, as the section dedicated to the natives of America which difficulty can be found in Italy, and objects of a different economic background (such as drilling). I would recommend to anybody passing from Bismarck and having some free time.
Nice place to hang out. Could go multiple times and still not see everything! Very kid friendly!
Fantastic history museum! I thoroughly enjoyed learning all things North Dakota related. I would highly recommend this place if your a history nerd, and the best part.....no admission fee!
Somewhat small for a history museum, but worth checking out if you're staying in Bismarck. When we went they had several exhibits; Horses, Early People, Underwater World, and a few others. The under water one was my favorite, they had a few really cool fossils of giant water dwelling animals that surprised me.
