I always have a great time out here. Can't do much better than this for stargazing. This is by far one of my favorite places to be.

Great history, plaques along the route with travelers statements. Even with modern dual sport motorcycles the route is demanding & rocky. Great geological features.

It's a rad place that your taxes help pay for. Go. Explore. Enjoy. Be sure to stay off the dunes and stick to marked trails. Friends of black rock have some great info and if you're feeling generous, donate to them.

Another amazing place to head for a early October fall trip. It was in the 90’s in the day around 60 at night, the Sky was amazing and the playa was a site to see and to be able to drive on it was “Wow, very cool!” The roads getting there can be trying the wash board is hard on the body though it is just 68 miles give or take off the main road from the North it’s 3 hour plus drive. But if you have the time It’s worth the hot spring stops and bike rides in the desert. All in all I can’t wait to return. \u200d️\u200d️

The Black Rock Desert is well worth a visit during the year when it's just a desert. Be careful driving here when it rains, or you will get stuck in the mud. This is one of the largest flat expanses of open desert in America and it's absolutely amazing.

Super cool area especially when it snows!! So for anybody not looking for burning man photos, know that the playa is an extremely beautiful environment! However, DO NOT DRIVE ON THE PLAYA OR SURROUNDING DIRT ROADS IF THERE IS ANY PRECIPITATION!! The playa mud is some pretty nasty stuff and people (like me) get stuck there every year. Many tow companies will not come and get you, or it will be very expensive and usually not covered by insurance. But if you're smart and walk, it is a breathtaking place! 10/10
