We were living on our boat in Key West and I needed canvas work and it's hard to find down there. It occurred to me to inspect the tag on our canvas that was original from the factory. I looked up the name of the business name on the tag and didn't expect much as the boat was nearly 20 years old. Yep, they were still in business and had all of my canvas items for our Sea Ray in a file once I gave them our VIN number. We ordered a new top and side curtains and the fit was perfect and they gave lots of tech help via phone. Five years later the top was showing some wear so I ordered a new top and they suggested a better material and within two weeks I had our top installed due to a perfect fit again. Karina in customer support is great and the prices are way better than my local guy that I have now that I'm in Clearwater, due to the fact that they have the patterns on file. I hope I can count on them for may years to come to supply my canvas needs on our now 24 year old Sea Ray.

I believe Boatswain's Locker got their start with truck canvas. After less than two years with their boat products, I can say they should not have ventured into marine canvas. After 14 years of reliable service, the original canvas on my Hallberg Rassy needed replacement. I had Boatswains construct a new sail cover, a dodger, and a bimini. Due to bad measurements by the owner's son, the first sail cover would not even fit and had to be reconstructed by the father. First significant Red Flag! Now after less than two years of use, the status of their products is as follows: 1) The sail cover tore and had to be repaired because no allowance was made for pressure from mast winches. Moreover, it was cut short and barely covers the sail. 2) The bimini never has fit well. Water wells up in the slack top, then spills out in a deluge. And because the zippers were not made for a marine environment, we have already begun to replace them. 3) The dodger was poorly cut, so no amount of tensioning makes it taunt like the original, leaving the lexan windows looking rippled. And the snaps are already corroded and one has been replaced. In short, I feel like I have wasted my money on canvas that won't last a fraction as long as the original. My strong recommendation is to find a better canvas shop. I went for convenience, and am daily reminded of my error.
