I can't say enough great things about this store. My son and I love coming here. The staff is very knowledgeable and interested in helping. They take the children section very seriously and stuck it with wonderful titles and displays. They invite curious readers to sit and browse. I will be back many times.

Wonderfully cute neighborhood book store. They have all the interesting thought provoking books you need. A lot of warmth, jokes, camaraderie and positive vibes, this bookstore is the intellectual anchor of Carol Gardens.
Absolutely love this bookstore. It's so inviting and always has awesome current releases and kids books. I've been to some of the best book events including David Sedaris, Patti Smith, Sally Rooney, Mari Andrew, Mary Karr and so many amazing others. It'll always be a part of my Brooklyn home and I can't wait to return to the city for more events in the future.
the best. i miss browsing this adorable store, which would always get me exited to read the new fiction they have on display, but their in-store pickups for online orders have been adapted for maximum covid safety, which i really appreciate. the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. like most small bookstores, they will special order anything you need, even if it’s not in stock, and have it ready for you within a week or so. no reason to ever order from Amazon again.
I’ve been meaning to pay this bookstore a visit, finally the opportunity presented itself because they were hosting an author event I was interested in. I love the name, love the store layout. It’s very well presented. It’s also very accessible by subway. However, as a first time customer,the customer service and general morale of the staff is not what I expected of a bookstore of its nature. The cashier didn’t seem to be in a good mood, I thought it’s a single incident. Then, I needed to ask one of the booksellers a question and got a very cold response. I hope they improve on their customer service in the future, it’s really very crucial aspect in a business.
