PPE has become a way of life for all of us, however if not properly disposed of, masks, gloves, and other PPE may become life-threatening hazards, not only to domestic animals but to wildlife as well. When she was found, Nikki was suffering from wounds caused by an embedded collar, a not uncommon injury where a cat tries to remove a collar and it typically gets caught around the animal’s armpit. If not treated immediately the collar can dig into the skin, causing severe irritation and a high risk of infection. If Nikki had not been rescued, her injuries may very Read More ARL Position Statements: Our Guiding Documents July 23, 2020 The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) drafts position statements to inform the public of our principles. These position statements include a variety of animal welfare issues, and are regularly evaluated. ARL’s position statements can be found here. This week, we spotlight ARL’s position statement on Declawing. Declawing is not a simple nail trim, it is an amputation of part of a cat’s toe. While many who seek out declawing do so because of undesired scratching, cats who are declawed often see more behavioral problems due to pain and inability to exercise a natural instinct to scratch. I can't imagine an organization with as many caring individuals as those in the Animal Rescue League, I had adopted a sweet kitten. It is evident through their handling of the animal's care these are people who genuinely wish the best for them. I also appreciated the transparency from the staff, you can tell they genuinely care for the animals and want them to leave in the healthiest condition or leave with someone equipped to care for them. Here is my kitty who's growing up to be a very goofy and adorable cat.

A perfect place to adopt a furever friend! We adopted a 22lb senior cat from here and the experience couldn't have been better. They are quick to schedule showings for their animals and you can tell that the staff really loves what they do and want every pet to find a good home. Our cat had special medical needs and they had no problems walking us through his medical needs and explaining things when we had questions.

I can give 6 stars If I could. It is good you know that there are good people with a pure heart and willing to help. They helped me with everything necessary for my 3 cats during the pandemic, thanks, May, Alex, and the volunteer who helped me bring everything by car to my home was helpful because I have many health problems and disabilities. I admire them, and I will carry them in my heart and whatever I can donate I will do it with pleasure.
