Everything you do and every deliberate or reflexive decision you make in life is built upon everything that has happened to you and how you personally learned from your experiences and history. Nothing else has taught me this more than the nurturing and attentive environment of Anderson's capoeira classes. Nothing else has also taught me of how much I am actually in control of my reactions and situations as well as his classes. The weight loss, strength gain, cool kicks and acrobatics might be what attract you, but they are barely the tip of the iceberg. In his classes I have found great friends; a source of confidence; physical challenges to keep my brain active; mental challenges like quick decision making and keeping composure while facing aggression; culture; music; memories I will never forget (even though I participate in so few of the events); and life lessons I can learn to apply anywhere. Like I suggested, capoeira is just life happening, and while you could also probably learn the same lessons by devoting yourself to any passion, capoeira is where I decided to steer my life, and Anderson has been the most welcoming of any of the capoeira schools I have studied under.

Anderson is a wonderful capoeira teacher. My daughter started when she was 3.5, and she loves class. The combination of movement and music is great, and Anderson really inspires the kids to do their best and push themselves. I recommend this class completely.

I really enjoyed it. I am overweight but I was able to go at my own pace and not shamed. I really enjoyed the class and I am looking forward to learning and being apart of this school.

I was in this group for 2.5 years but after a disagreement, the instructor kicked me out of the group for no reason. That’s not why I gave the low rating. The reason is he kicked my 6 year old daughter out of capoeira. She has been working so hard to get better for 2 years and now I have to explain to her that she won’t be able to go back. Over the petty behavior of the instructor. Think about this before you or your kids get involved with instructor capixaba.

I like that Contra Mestre Capixaba professionally provides consistent, knowledgeable training with a friendly environment. If you want to learn capoeira, he is open to teaching. If you are incorrectly doing a movement or singing a song, he will instruct you on the right course. And, you will feel like you have gained by the correction; he has instilled. During this Covid-19 pandemic, I am very thankful that Contra Mestre Capixaba is holding training. He is a guide, translator, teacher and friend. His classes have a very welcoming feeling. Thank you CM Capixaba for sharing Capoeira.

Great class for my little toddler! It was recommended by a friend and I’m so happy to find a class like this, which is musical , physical and fun. Anderson is so good with kids. He’s nice, patient, funny and knows how to engage and teach kids!

I am soo happy that I found this place, there are not many places as welcoming as they are especially when you have a child with spectrum. My son improved soo much after coming in here, his gross and fine motor skills has improved. He is more social now and his sensory has improved a lot as well. The class is for typical developing kids but they welcomed my son with open arms and Mr. Anderson assured us that my son will have fun. Mr. Anderson treated us like a family and my son really adores him. The class is like an art for the kids, it is a combination of Brazilian martial art moves, singing and dancing. I registered for my daughter as well after few classes and they are bonding so well now at home. The kids enjoy’s it so much that they are super excited to come. Any kids will love Capoeira and even adults. God bless and thank you Mr. Anderson we love you!!
