Community darkroom that offers classes, dark room rentals and does film Processing. I've only used their processing service after dusting my old Canon off. Prices are reasonable and turnaround was fast. The scans were great! I was able to schedule a time to grab my original negatives too.

Great darkroom! Great place to develop film and to print photos. Rachel is knowledgeable and is always getting it done!

I’ve had a great experience with the Gowanus Darkroom. Not only are my orders quick but Rachel is incredibly efficient and responsive. Me and my partner have had issues with the Bushwick Community Darkroom for a few months - we were made to believe that our cameras had issues and that our empty rolls were our fault and not theirs. We were close to losing the joy of photography, constantly having anxiety over whether we would see our shots or not. Transitioning to the GD gave us answers. The rolls have not come back empty once and the customer service goes above and beyond; if we have a question, we hear back very soon after. Orders are on-time. An added perk is that even though it’s a little out of the way, Prospect Park is nearby so we make a day out of it. Thank you for giving us our joy back!

1. Poor customer service -customer inquired when photo develop and scan may be done. -“you have to be patient.” Was the response -it has been a week since customer’s film had arrived to them. -COVId19 may delay things. I understand; however, employee could have stated, “please be patient with us” or something along the line. -please go somewhere else for you film development and scan. I wanted to support local small business but customer service is not professional at all. The images have not even been delivered yet. Thank you for reading.

Great place for scanning and development when you have shot a good roll. They also have development and darkroom classes and they hire out their studio. Great staff.
