Always a great experience at the market! Friendly college-aged workers who are incredibly welcoming and it is evident that they enjoy their jobs. The food is terrific and I give credit to the owner and staff for keeping up with the constant flow of customers and orders especially during the pandemic. You don't want to miss Burke's when passing through Bay Head!

Coming here during the Corona “issue”. Their Chili is good ! They make both Chicken and Beef Chili. Amongst many other things. It was a little on the mild side but they’ll give you a small side container to spice it up.

This is a great local business with fresh and delicious food. The owner and staff are very friendly and you can tell they enjoy being there. I had The Mount today which is a hot sandwich on rye with pastrami, coal slaw, Swiss cheese, and spicy mustard. When I finished it, even though I was full, I wanted another one. Go try this family business out!!!! Oh and their homemade giant chocolate chunk cookies are to die for!!!

Being a seasonal renter in Bay Head for seven of the last ten years, quick quality food has been particularly hard to come by. While Curtis and Central Market were great options for a quick bite to eat, the cleanliness of the store and healthiness of the foods were lacking. When Burke's Market opened up, I saw this as an opportunity for the owner to make her mark on the local community by providing as many outlets as possible at one destination. Upon my first visit last June, I was blown away at the interior design which was on display. The modern spin was very refreshing as opposed to the haggard look offered by previous owners; furthermore, the ability to piece together a market, liquor store, and candy outlet into one location is very impressive. While the food may take a while to be prepared, the young staff is always very welcoming and manages to make the potential wait feel seamless, the quality of the food has never failed to let me down and the Italian touch is always refreshing following a long day at the beach with my children. All in all, I commend the owner and the staff on working hard and successfully to provide for the local communities despite evidently stressful weekend days. Thank you Burke's Market for giving us what we didn't know we were missing!

Stale bread, expired food on the shelves and an entire night of upset stomachs. That’s what you’ll get from Burkes. It’s a shame. The owner has had a year to work out the issues (not counting the two years of renovations... two years?!) but can’t figure out how to offer quality and freshness to Bay Head. The business model is that of ignorance or penny pinching. Where is the health inspector when you need one? Nevertheless a clear case of over promising, and under delivering. This town deserves better! Seriously. I’ll patiently wait around for the next establishment to occupy what was Curtis’s Central Market. Third time is the charm, I hope...

Excellent food, friendly staff. I can’t get through my day without my Burke’s coffee and Howe or East Sandwich. Excellent prepared food and salads, liquor store and go to gift store. Thank you for bringing such such a wonderful store to BayHead.
