two days ago was the first time in this restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last time. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the good service, with the high quality cooking and fine drinks and with the decent charge. We will no doubt come back in a short time.

Overall it was good. It was nice to sit down and get service. I like the burnt ends, good fats and moist. The pull pork and brisket were a little disappointing. The servers were nice but we had to ask for everything that were usually brought to the table -- asked for menus, asked for utensils, asked for BBQ sauce that never came. Understand that the situation is difficult nowadays with outdoor seating and whatnot. Really appreciate the restaurant that opening up and serving the neighborhood. Just wanted to see the food and services getting better.

The place offers a nice variety of delicious food. I enjoyed dining here. Employees are always welcoming, pricing is fair and the spot is always kept clean.

Had some great takeout from here! We started off with the fried pickles and they were so good! For my main, I had the \Butcher's Platter\ with a sampling of their meats and a few sides. Definitely recommend if you can't decide what to have. It was ALMOST a lot of food, but if you come hungry, you can definitely eat it all. I specifically chose the brisket, dry rub ribs, and pulled pork and they were all really good - I'm no barbecue connoisseur, but I can definitely say I enjoyed my meal. I had a taste of a friend's burnt ends and it was amazing too. Although, I felt bad because it was such a small portion, so beware if you order the 1/4 pound option, I'd recommend you upgrade. As for the sides, I had the corn on the cob, baked beans, and mac and cheese - it also came with pickles, coleslaw, and cornbread. I loved my choices, but the included sides were just ok. My friends liked their meals too. Bill was a little high and we weren't amazed, but pretty satisfied overall! I would love to come back and I can only imagine it'd taste even better if we had eaten in.

We decided to give this place a try given that it had pretty good reviews. We found the food to be thoroughly average. The famous burnt ends weren't burnt ends. It was just regular old chopped brisket. Which was good but not great. But I wish they hadn't called it one thing and delivered another. Smoked wings had no smoke flavor at all and we're drenched in generic Buffalo-style sauce. The fried chicken sandwich was thoroughly mediocre. Given the abundance of fried chicken sandwiches these days, it was definitely not something I would come back for. What really bothered me was the price- the food here is super overpriced given the quality. We ended up spending almost 70 for two sandwiches and a couple of sides. So, normally I don't take the time to leave a review unless it's somewhere I really liked and am going to give five stars to, however I feel obligated in this case. The operations manager (she might possibly be the owner, no one is quite sure) has some serious issues. She is incapable of taking ANY kind of constructive criticism, and is constantly engaging in toxic, bullying behavior towards anyone who leaves anything less than a glowing review here or on Yelp. Read the reviews here. You'll see. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if she responds to this review with more of her narcissistic abuse. I know small businesses are really suffering right now, so this is not something I say lightly- but Astoria deserves much better than this. The neighborhood will breathe a huge sigh of relief when Butcher Bar is out of business.
