Good for kids
Beautiful place. Quiet. Spacious. Very popular place. Lots of trash from parties. And lots of horse trailers in the daytime. But peaceful. Gorgeous trees and setting. I would not come again though because there’s no table or grill. Good connection for phone and google. But hard to find. Follow “campgrounds for Dawson Forest WMA” directions.

Free to hike and 7 according to the sign for mountain biking and horse riding (honor system). Great pines and people were camping also.

The camp ground seemed awesome when we first arrived. Quiet nice level ground with a clean porta- let. BUT!....at 9:30 pm...after all campers were quiet and sleeping, City law enforcement showed up, with K-9 and rousted everyone out of bed and threatened to sniff out any “ narcotics, marijuana, heroin” etc!!!! WTH?? My wife and I were sleeping...so were most all campers! What kind of park is this????? Someone should speak to city officials about their overly aggressive cops. Thumbs down!
Great place to visit except for the commandos checking your receipt at 8:30 at night in the dark. Totally uncalled for procedure. It must be a terribly unsafe place actually if the police come around at night like that. Don’t do it.
