What happen to them, they are no longer open, My God so so many years ordering from them!! I guess we have Coral Gable, but who wants to fight the traffic. Any body know a good Chinese restaurant in Westchester let me know!!!

Its ok, I feel like they hold back on the seasoning. I appreciate the type of rice they use for the special fried rice though. A bit expensive cause its a "canton" restaurant.

Canton Palace's dim sum are easily the most fantastic examples I've found of the fine art of Mandarin/Cantonese cooking anywhere in Miami. It's a good rule of thumb to judge a place by the type of people who hang out there. Are you at a German beer haus? Are you surrounded by large scary looking men in funny hats and lederhosen? That's a good sign. Are you at a Japanese Sushi bar full of bleach blond beach bums and stay at home moms? Not such a good sign. Canton falls into the former category. Each time I have been the lone non-Asian dinning at the place - a very good sign. For those who like dim sum you are most likely familiar with the little carts that are pushed around. You will not find these here. Instead the dim sum are ordered sushi style from a menu that you write down exactly what you want. This means dim sum are steamed/fried/baked what ever to order. They come out in the traditional steaming baskets and are brought in a non-stop stream to your table. Depending on what you are looking for you can get everything from shrimp, pork, tripe, beef, and everything in between. They are prepared in so many different ways its mind numbing. In addition to all the dim sum there are more traditional dishes as well. I am fond of the Singapore street noodles (not exactly traditional but mighty tasty). I know a lot of people rave about tropical dim sum here in Miami but Canton has my vote. 4 stars for a great experience. There isn't much support for those not steeped in the tradition of dim sum, so its kind of learn as you go. It's a bit out of the way but worth the trip. The food is top notch for what it is. This is a great place to take a date to see what she's really like, or to scare her away as you stuff baskets and baskets of steamed sticky pork buns in your mouth.
