Beautiful place to be any time of the year. On top of the world. Beautiful lookout spot on your way to and from Cherokee etc.

courthouse valley overlook is located at milepost 423.5 on the parkway. from here you'll enjoy a spectacular long range view. the valley below of the flatlands join the french broad river. here you'll find two small parking lots and a few picnic tables, sorry no BBQ grills. also as you are coming in to the park lot just don't voom in. notice the stunning rocks there sparkling away. i have notice some people on other site would like the few pine trees in the view of the valley and mountains cut down. i think they add to the view. why does every overlook and views have to be tree free. sad these people think that way. i even like dead tree. a lot of times it add a wow effect.

It's beautiful everywhere on the Blue Ridge! Now the weather is behaving, the roads provide a great day out for exploring, picnicing, hiking, and site-seeing.
