I have the honor to teach kindergarten at Carleton. This is my second year there and I am overwhelmed by the love and support of the staff, administrators, families and children. Everyone comes together to help one another. It is a Leader in Me School and the atmosphere is different from anything I've ever experienced in my 18 years with DPSCD. Students get to learn academics and life skills beyond the classroom. We offer all kinds of opportunities for students to learn sports, arts and crafts, dance, computer homework help, soccer...all after school. The parents have been actively running the PTA organization and have there own room where parents can get the support they need. Teachers collaborate so that children are getting the best education. It's been a wonderful place to work!

I would have to say a very horrible school, I am currently enrolling my daughter into another school as we speak. My daughter teacher asked my daughter to take off her under shirt because it was too hot in the class room. Later that she her to put it back on and sent her to the bathroom. Being the 5 year old that she is, it had been time to dismiss and get on the bus. My daughter rushed and tryed not to miss her school bus and for got to button her shirt up. Now this hole time she has left out the school and gotten on the bus no one seen her with her coat and her shirt unbutton and just allowed her to get on the bus exposed till the point she got home and gotten off the bus! I have to say this unacceptable, the school didn't want to do anything. No report was taken or anything, it makes me believe this kinda thing happens very often at this school for them to not take my daughter being exposed serious!

Teachers are mean they don't have no AC someone is always.bullying u they food really don't be done the milk is always Expired Ms.Perkins is the only nice teacher she treated us like we where her kids I'm going to miss Ms.Perkins and Ms.williams Sometimes Mr.harper . 2015

Carleton Elementary is the educational cornerstone of our community; as we should treat it as such. The only problem that I have seen is the parking on the frontside of the building, there should be no entrance to Casino street between Roxbury & Lakepointe during dismissal time. DPS as well as DPD should come together and make change with either patrol at dismissal time or push for making it (Casino street) a one way/ DO NOT ENTER signs during dismissal time! REMEMBER TO KEEP THE CHILD'S MENTALITY OF A POSITIVE NATURE. As always PEACE&THANKS.
