For the price, its an incredible value! The course has some areas that need to be fixed, but it's well maintained. I was very pleased with the overall conditions considering the price

Good go-to on the cheap, but you get what you pay for. Greens and areas around greens are pitiful.

I was very disappointed with my round of golf here. My group of 3 played 18 holes on a Saturday morning. We started hole 1 and then immediately had 3 more large groups right behind us. Because of the log jam created by poor tee time management complaints were made claiming my 3-some was going too slow - we had only just completed the first hole, not nearly enough time to create some space for all the groups to space themselves out. Management threatened to kick my group off the course if we didn't speed up. I timed my group for those first 9 holes - 3 golfers completed 9 holes in 1 hour 45 minutes, which felt awfully fast. Doing a quick google search, I found out that the average time for 2 golfers to complete a round of 9 holes is 2 hours 15 minutes. It would appear my thoughts were correct, we were forced to play way too fast and we were robbed of a pleasant golfing experience on a beautiful day. By the time we came back around and played the second 9 there weren't any new cars in the parking lot and we took our sweet time . The 3 of us completed the second 9 holes at our own pace at 2 hours 10 minutes - still faster than the average time for 2 golfers, even though we had 3. It would appear that my group wasn't the problem , it was poor management that led to their unhappy customers. Note to management: Learn to space your groups out correctly I cannot recommend this golf course to people even though it has potential to be a good location.

Friendly, cheap, uncrowded, informal, public. It's a 9-hole course. Heck, even at 18-hole courses many people just play 9 half the time anyway. The owners of Chanticlair had the rare common-sense to make a comfortably spacious 9-hole course, rather than cramming 18 onto the property. Don't you hate it when the (foursome-laden) next tee blocks are right next to the green you are hitting into? This is one public course where that stressor does not occur. And so, we find ourselves driving past a closer-by public course or two to go to Chanticlair. It's modest, but it does what it does very well.
