Maria Pappas is the best! I heard her on talk radio explaining how her office could assist in retrieving money owed from the state. She did just that. I had overpaid taxes in 2002 and could not locate the proper bank papers or old check to prove the error. I wrote a letter to explain my dilemma and within weeks I received the said amount of the overpayment. At a time when we are suspect of people in office, I can proudly say that Maria Pappas follows through on her word and investigates the claims. Thank you for restoring my faith in public office. I must commend Maria Pappas for recognizing the need to bring her staff into the communities to assist residents with property tax issues. I visited PUSH today seeking answers to my property tax questions. The representative from the Treasurer's Office was patient, knowledgeable, and a major help. It would be a real plus to have members of your staff in the communities year round.
