I and my sister were beneficiaries on my deceased love one life insurance policy. Our deceased love one had previously purchased a plot about 27 years ago at Oakwood Cemetery. We were told by the personnel that there was an additional charges needed for opening and closing of the plot. We met with Ms Beverly Jackson. We were asked to provide our social security numbers and we declined as it had nothing to do with processing the policy but more to do with the Cemetary 200.00 odd dollars charge to have a 2nd entity process. We were kept hostage for close to two hours and Ms Jackson showed signs of being impatient and irritated! Please be aware of hidden fees and hijacked charges being made by Oakwood Cemetary! I will not recommend them.

Both my parents are buried at this Cemetery. I buried my little brother next to my parents about eleven months ago. I purchased his headstone from the Oakwood cemetery and paid in full a couple of weeks after he was buried (nearly a year ago). After numerous of lies and running me around about why his headstone was not down yet, yesterday, on June 29, 2020 a day before his death anniversary, I stopped by their office again. I was informed that the company was under new management and I was finally told the paper work for his headstone was misplaced/lost and that they needed me to sign another release form to order his headstone. This information the Oakwood staff finally decided to share with me, a day before his death anniversary was emotionally hard to hear. Something like this should never happen to families that are already heartbroken and still grieving. This was very unprofessional, rude and unnecessary. After telling them, I would not sign another release form, I would like for my money to be returned so that I can purchase his headstone somewhere else, they took a nonchalant attitude about the situation. The staff member Danette and the Manger never uttered the words, I'm so sorry about this; I know this is a very difficult time for you. Having experienced this has caused me to have more hurt and grief. I'm so disappointed. I only gave a 1 star because there was no choice for under failure in customer service.

I often visit my deceased friends & family and gain a lot of solitude with the grounds & surroundings. I never exhaust my opportunities for willing participants in conversations.

Despite what Google Map informs, Oakwoods Cemetery is not open 24 hours. The grounds are closed at 4:30pm, the office some time before that. Despite that it's wonderful.

Staff is very helpful. I live out of state and it is important to me to have flowers placed for my family on our special days. Through these many years they have always been faithful in helping me respect my loved ones with flowers and flag placements. Thank you again for your kindness, caring, and respect to my family.
