I love this shop. They are so welcoming! They greet you right away when you come in so you don't feel like you're walking into a clique of knitters that aren't interested in you. And the help I have received there has been fantastic. In particular, I went in wanting to replicate a friend's sweater. Jamie helped me CREATE my own pattern for it. And stood patiently at the end while I modeled it so we could decide how high the neck should go and where the armholes should fall. She is so willing to share her obvious expertise. The sweater turned out fantastic. She even blocked it for me, as well as another afghan I made. Another time I brought in tons of yarn from my stash and they helped me figure out how to use it all in one afghan. Both Jamie and Donna are very creative and have a great sense of design and color that I trust implicitly. This is what a knit shop should be!

Donna was great. She had everything I needed for my new project. An excellent fiber arts store, knitting, crocheting, and felting.

Such a great shop! Beautiful, quality products and amazingly kind and helpful staff!! I've been able to pop in with questions and get advice, as well as a really lovely sense of community.

I started coming to their Thursday knit nights when I first moved to the city and was immediately welcomed into their community. I am extremely grateful for this wonderful group of people who were my first friends in Chicago and continue to be excellent support. Donna is extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The store has a great mix of affordable and splurge-worthy yarns. I love most of the yarn shops in Chicago, but Sister-Arts is definitely my number one.
