I went to two doctors who basically made me feel like I was crazy and nothing was wrong with my son. I finally decided to get one more opinion and came to children’s hospital in Troy and saw dr lochner. They diagnosed him correctly literally within minutes. Every single person there was so nice and caring from the security guard, the nurses and the drs. He had surgery today and it was a little scary but all of the staff sang songs to him while he went to sleep and let me be with him through every step. I appreciate all of their hard work and kindness and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thank you!!

I have taken my son here twice now and there has never been a sense of urgency. This last time really set me off. I went in the knowing my son had broken a bone and yelled that to the staff and my 2 year old screamed in my arms. I heard the bone break and knew he needed attention right away. He had been here before so he was already in the system. Meaning they could have admitted him and then had me fill out paperwork and take my license. They also had us wait in the waiting room when the parking lot was empty and nobody else was to be seen or heard. Very disappointed in this hospital. You always want the best for your child but you won’t get it here.

I love this hospital. I took my daughter when she split chin, I’ve taken both kids when I had concerns and couldn’t get in with their pediatrician, and they are always fast and friendly and never made me feel anything other than comfortable. Friday I took my son in because his eye became swollen. My ONE YEAR old son. I get questioned by the security guard about my son wearing a mask. I told him no he’s one, he can’t wear a mask and it’s not safe for children under 2 to wear a mask. And he said where did I get that information from, I said what do you mean it’s literally everywhere (the news, cdc guidelines, even the pediatrician made it clear not to cover his mouth) and he goes well according to this and I interrupted and said listen he’s one. No he’s not wearing a mask. I mean a mother is coming in with her baby swollen shut and gets questioned from the security guard about a mask on a one year old. If you are going to have someone monitor the door for masks the least they can do is be educated on what’s safe or not safe and when and when not to question someone walking into the er with their baby. Granted he was very friendly when I was leaving but it still is upsetting. I’m all for masks but to question a one year old is too much.

After waiting at Beaumont for two hours with my daughter’s clearly broken wrist with no end in sight , we went to Children’s and were seen the moment we walked in the door, and were home an hour later. We’ve since been back for a middle of the night issue, and we were back home before we would have even been seen at another hospital. When your children are in pain, there’s nothing worse than a hospital with an eternal wait. The care was excellent, and the people were empathetic and great with kids. This is our go-to for emergency care with the littles.
