Sadly disappointing. We ate here a few months ago back when it was 50% capacity and left a rave review as to how good it was. Went today (February 14, 2021) and unfortunately the service was horrible and food was not even close to good. Part of the problem seems to be the restaurant is prioritizing carry-out over dine in and the dine in is clearly suffering for it. The restaurant is clearly running short-staffed and it shows. We came in around 1pm after a half hour wait to come in be seated - which is not a problem and understandable under the 25% capacity rule. But, what happened next was not acceptable - after being seated it took over 5 minutes and asking to get a menu, then after ordering it took 15 minutes to get a hot water with lemon and 20 minutes to get a coffee to the table that had been ordered. Coffee arrived black without any offer of cream or anything. Food took 45 minutes from ordering to arrive and it arrived lukewarm with no explanation nor apology for the delay. During that time lots of carry out was going out the door. When the food finally arrived, it was sub-par. Most notably the hash browns were not brown but completely white - which is the first time I've seen hash browns served like that at a restaurant - it looks like they were simply left to defrost and then put on a plate. The menu stated the Master Chief came with 3 eggs - but only two arrived on the plate. Everything was lukewarm and mediocre at best and not worth a 45 minute wait on top of the acceptable 30 to be seated in the first place, and not what it should have been, especially as compared to a few months ago. In short, it was not an enjoyable visit and incredibly disappointing after such a great experience on our earlier visit. I hope that they regain their stride and quality in time, but for now I cannot recommend Downtown Charlie's for dining in.

A few weeks ago, my buddy and I wanted to find something new to try. I got on yelp and saw that this had recently opened. The first thing I noticed right away was how friendly and inviting the staff was. We sat outside, and our server Cassidy waited on us right away. I went with The hungry man it comes with two eggs and your choice of meat. I went with Sausage, and it comes with potatoes. I also got with my breakfast an English muffin that came with strawberry jam or preserves, not sure what. It was all I know it was out of this work good, Everything was great service speed of getting food.
Downtown Charlie’s has amazing food! The staff from Kenwood Elementary has ordered twice so far and our orders are always correct, the food hot and staff friendly and accommodating. I ordered sliders and fries and everything was delicious! Keep up the great service and tasty food!
Great little cafe! Food and service was great. Food could have come out a touch faster and the skillet price was a touch high. But skillet hash, sausage, and Gravy were really delicious!
Delicious food and very friendly staff make you feel immediately welcome. Couldn't have wished for a better experience! I'll definitely be back.
