A wonderful place for for veterans and their dependents to obtain counseling, resource information, publications and many other services such as job search and resume building. Please be aware that when you call it is imperative you verify you are indeed speaking with a staff member at the location you are wishing to visit. There are specific requirements you must meet as a veteran to qualify for some of the free services here...not all. If you are not careful, you could give misleading answers and be disqualified as a candidate for care here. Be sure you have the exact location you are calling as their calls are often forwarded to other locations when they are closed in order to assist urgent need/distress calls. It took me many attempts and denial of service before I was deemed qualified due to misunderstanding questions and answers. Do not give up if you know you qualify! Worse case, go into the location in person. There are services provided by the Vet Center available to all veterans such as job search, resume building, distribution of veteran benefit brochures and literature that do not have qualifications to be met. The front office is a literal library of magazines, pamphlets and flyers. It is ok to walk in and browse these items. They are well stocked with many copies for you to take and share with fellow veterans. I photograph and distribute as much and as often as I can. I have received nothing but top-notch service from this Vet Center for over 6 months now. I was referred here by my doctors at the VA Hospital and though they share some information as a government entity, your care and visits are generally confidential unless you grant permission to release your personal charts to the VA. I am a very grateful veteran and give applause to the Clearwater Vet Center and it's staff for all they have done for myself, my family and my fellow veterans.
