I knew the doctor was out of my insurance network, but chose to go anyway because I didn't want to travel 150 miles. I wanted to know up front what it was going to cost, and I was quoted a range with the deduction for paying not using insurance. Low and behold, several weeks later, I got another bill for more than what I had already paid. When I called, they said this was normal as it was a second charge for exam, not just the office visit. I would have traveled the 150 miles had I know or skipped the whole visit. Very misleading. Doctor was great and informative and listened, but payment is extremely important and office should have been more upfront and transparent with charges since I explained exactly why I was calling and the situation.
