Exceptional company! Great customer service! Agents had a lot of knowledge and showed me everything I needed to know! Helped me save money off my rates by placing me on a fixed plan. Best choice I’ve made with my gas and electricity! These bad comments on here aren’t real! I’ve been with direct the last 3 years and don’t have a complaint. They DO NOT have a cancellation or early termination fee like some people in these reviews claim! Do not be fooled by fake reviews from there marketing competitors.

Deception at its best. Their sales people will deceive you by presenting following story. 1. Guy knocks on door says. Hey, we are from direct energy do you have that direct energy sign on your electrical bill? (Question is why do I need it?) 2. They won’t explain that they are trying to sell you the direct energy but rather will portray it as it is a necessity to have their sign on your bill. 3. Whenever such people show up at your door please be very skeptical about their requests or arguments. 4. I was fortunate enough to cancel their deceptive sale before the enrollment. To the management of Direct energy: stop these artful practices of sales before someone drags you into the court.
I would like to say that Jane Ro was so helpful in explaining what they do, I was impressed by her patience, manners, and professional tone. She even allowed me to ask her questions did not mean to interrupt her but she allowed me to do so so I would not forget my question, when we are able to use this service I will request her so she gets credit if that is a thing because an employee like her encourages me to want to do business with this company, thanks Jane you ROCK!!!!
Stay far away from this company. Has been nothing but a nightmare since trying to signup with them. Put on hold up to a total of 20 mins. My acct was showing \in process\ on their end but after I already spoke to Vectren and they showed no application filed by direct energy and I should have direct energy resend over my application again. Direct energy told me that's not what they see on their end so I should just wait 2 or 3 months to see if it goes thru and vectren has no idea what they are talking about in a rude tone. Well needless to say, I told them to cancel my request and I'll stick with my supplier for another year.
Where to begin with this unethical bs company. They send ex-felons and con artists to your house or apartment and basically scam you into signing up for their inflated energy prices. Most of the time they present it like your landlord already signed up for it or they get you to sign something saying they explained everything to you, when in reality they are scamming you into signing up for their services. Then if you decide to end your service agreement early, they charge you 99. I had the misfortune of moving away before they sent me any notice that I owed them 99 and 5 years later, I get a call from Debt Collectors saying I owe Direct Energy for early termination. Even though Direct Energy had my new address and my email on file, they gave no communication. DON'T GET ANY 3RD PARTY SUPPLIER FOR ENERGY (GAS OR ELECTRIC)! YOU ARE BETTER OFF PAYING THE ELECTRIC OR GAS COMPANY. And if someone is at your door from Direct Energy, promptly slam the door in their face or tell them you're calling the police. Its not worth the future headache you will get.
