My mother and I dealt with the Canadian Consult a few years ago to obtain our citizenship papers and Canadian passports. We never had an issue. They were professional, courteous, and helpful. Of course, we did research beforehand and figured out from their website what the requirements were to expedite the process and keep it smooth. The few things we needed to clarify we did by email. Which was promptly answered.

I have been to the Consulate once and dealt over the phone with them a few times. As a Canadian here in the US they have been absolutely fantastic to work with. Their knowledge is very good and they explain everything easily. I would always recommend giving them a call if you have any questions while in the US northwest. If nobody is available they return your call as soon as they can. Very professional very well run Consulate.

Okay, so earlier I commented on how difficult it was to get any help in regards to questions about immigration...No phone numbers and no email sites to ask questions. So I drove into Seattle and went to the Canadian embassy, While they no longer do immigration work, a lovely young lady, Ruth, gave some guidance from her past experience. Showed me a web site that might be more user friendly, and helped me figure out what it was that I was asking, there were so many options, on the first site that you couldn't figure it out. She also helped me with a little knowledge of Canadian history/geography....I now know what a \blue nose\ is. Thanks!!

Had a question about whether I needed a visa to Canada as an American, for my specific situation. They said they couldn't help, and gave me a paper with links to websites I'd already visited (and couldn't find an answer from). The \help\ phone #s are for a for-profit company that only handles visa applications -- not for helping people understand whether they needed one in the first place. Thanks a lot, guys.
