Seaside, Florida. The Perfect American town. I have seen Seaside grow and grow since my first stay in 1995. I have stayed in small and large cottages, including the Beachfront Cottage(s). I may have my favorites but I have never been disappointed with my accommodations. And the picturesque town is perfect from one side to the other. Everything within walking distance. Just park your car and take a week off from outside life, and really, REALLY — LIVE. BEAUTIFUL white sand beaches with a beautiful pavilion path, and no better place to witness a Sunrise or Sunset on earth.

We love seaside but cottage rental agency is a joke. The front desk never answers the phone when you call and the emergency after hours number no one ever picks up. It’s like this every time we stay when we have needed some customer service it’s been basically non-existent. Now this time we have zero blankets and cannot get anyone on the phone. They are supposed to be in the office at front desk until 6pm of which we went around 5:45pm and no one was there. Horrible customer service, we will be choosing another rental agency for seaside in the futureS

We rented Wayback cottage in Seaside at a fairly high price once all the fees were included but I figured it was because of it being Labor Day weekend. Very cute and quaint appearing on the outside but MAJOR UPGRADES NEEDED INSIDE! It smelled musty and old upon first walking in. While we expected it to be small, the furnishings were very dated and in poor condition. Especially poor was the sofa which had several broken springs such that when you sat down you sank down and to the side. Rugs throughout the cottage were very old and appeared dirty. The wooden floors were very worn in spots. We had to cook on a hot plate that sat on top of a gas range which appeared to be inoperable. I wasn’t about to try and light it' There is no dishwasher. Small flat screen TV in the living room and nice size, wall-mounted TV in the bedroom but alas the remote didn’t work even after putting in new batteries. Believe me you can get a much, much nicer rental in Destin or Miramar Beach for less money.

I have rented from the Cottage Rental Agency at Seaside for years, with no problems and was surprised to see some negative online reviews recently, but now I can confirm the recent negative experiences. We just rented, arriving Saturday June 13. Check in time is 4PM, we arrived at 3, our unit wasn’t ready yet, so we went to the store for groceries, and returned at 4:10. Unit still wasn’t ready. The staff in rental office made a call, and came back out and apologized but said the cleaners “went home sick” and didn’t inform them, so the unit hadn’t been cleaned. They were going to call someone in right away, but it would be a couple hours. He said they would certainly “make it right” with some type of compensation and he would have his manager call me tomorrow. We cooled our heels, called again at 6, room wasn’t ready. He finally called me back at 8pm that night to say the unit was ready. By that time our groceries that were perishable had been in the car for 5 hours and were ruined. Despite the promise, I did not receive a call from manager over the next 2 days, so I went in Tuesday and was told the manager was off that day but would call me the next day. You guessed it, no call from them the next day either. In addition, our internet in the unit went out after the first day. They sent someone who fixed it, but it continued to go in and out for the rest of the stay. Also as an aside, not a single person in the rental office wore a mask at any time. We are home now and I’m still waiting on that call. You pay a premium to stay within Seaside and I for one won’t be doing that again. Do yourself a favor and avoid the poor service and expensive rental costs and stay somewhere else along 30A. There are plenty of other nice areas in the region.

Great guest services and plenty of houses to choose from. Seaside is well worth the drive away from all the traffic of Destin

Rented through Cottage Rental Agency online. Our initial email noted that we would receive a confirmation call for our reservation within 24 hours. When I never heard from the company, we called and emailed multiple times and were unable to reach an agent despite leaving multiple messages. When we finally reached someone (based on our persistence and feeling that something was not quite right), they initially confirmed our stay. We called back a few days later to see if we could add an additional night into our reservation. Only at that time did they note that there may be a “maintenance issue” for one of our nights affecting our reservation. They called 2 days later and left us a message that there was an issue with the first night of our reservation and we would need to look into “shortening our stay”. When I finally reached someone today after calling five times and leaving multiple messages, I was told that only two of the four nights of our stay were available. They weren’t even concurrent. I was offered no alternative plan and no further explanation. We canceled our stay. Unfortunately, I don’t see a good reason why we would ever book through this company in the future.

We have been coming to Seaside since 1995 and it remains a wonderful place for a beach vacation. But our experience with Cottage Rental Agency was not good this time. Our house was low on expected supplies - no soap, trash bags, TP, etc. We ran out of TP, called twice and none was ever delivered despite promising it would be. We had no access to beach towels and ended up having to buy some. Lovely house, poor management.
