This is a great place for a polling place which is what I was there for as an election judge. They gave us a huge hall in which to do our work. There was plenty of room to check in voters, six at a time. The voting booths were well spaced. There was also plenty of room to put people when the lines got long. Restrooms are very nearby. There is also a mini-lift to make the hall wheel chair accessible. Thank you, Dole, for letting our County have this space.

Beautiful historic place right next to crystal lake beach....former St. Mary's seminary and former Dole Pineapple Mansion. The staff here are wonderful to speak with on the history of the place. They have now obviously turned it into an arts center and have photography studios, music studios, studio art, listening room and all. They are also rehabbing the historical mansion part that used to be home to the Franciscan brothers...

If you like the history of Crystal Lake, it is a very nice venue for catered events like the one I attended. I'm glad a church saved the place till the citizens could rally around and preserve it. The elevator is small, but have patience and ask for help if you can't climb stairs.

I went in looking for a space to rent for the new regenerative medicine programs myself and my husband are putting together. The staff was great, friendly and the spaces they offer are simply historical and beautiful. I highly recommend Lakeside to anyone who is holding a conference or a talk. Pricing is reasonable and services are outstanding.

Lovely facility with an intriguing history. Lots always going on here. We attended one of the early Four Friday art shows. Perhaps because of that early buzz, it was really crowded. We're older and truly cone for the art. If you are young and in the Crystal Lake area, the mix of drinks, live lusic, art and the youngish crowds mostly, makes for a happening bar-like scene. Can be loud and hard to talk in the central rooms.. gets quieter as you move the artists studios when they open up. Be sure to visit the renovation part of mansion at least once, it's moving along nicely.
