This is a fun weekend outing, especially on Sundays where admission, parking, programs, hot dogs, BEER, soda are only 1 each. It's an enjoyable experience on a day to take in nice weather where one can just \chill\ watching the horses run, place a few bets (and hope to win), and get excited with the crowd as the horses pass the finish line. The races are pretty closely spaced so it's not boring. The day we went, they had a pretty good band playing so that was topping on the cake. We saw lots of families so kids get an opportunity to see race horses at a reasonable cost.

I love it here. Food prices are high. But, what do you expect, your there to spend money. It's fun to go with a group of your friends and family. I don't recommend bringing small children. Eat before you come or bring food in your purse or bag. Lots of booze and beer. If your into that. I always have fun if I win or loose.

I should note when beginning this review that I don't bet, nor am I a hardcore horse racing fan. However I believe Golden Gate Fields is a great form of Sunday afternoon entertainment on 1 days. As others have said, admission, parking, programs, etc are only 1. Be warned, however, that the only food sold for 1 is hot dogs and ice cream sandwiches. Therefore, if you have someone with you who doesn't eat pork who wants real food they'll be stuck paying significantly more money for a cheese pizza, chicken tamale, chicken wings, or soup n' salad. You also have to pay more for real beer (not bud or bud light).

Dollar Days are great and fun here! Our hostess, Maria, did a fantastic job at making my experience here worthwhile. She even helped me with understanding the races so that I could place a bet with ease. The service and food here were excellent and I will definitely come back again.

It was better than expected. The distancing was marginal and I never felt uncomfortable about standing in line while others were able to pass by going either direction. Nice size crowd, well serviced and a mature atmosphere. All good.
