If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I put in an application back in September 2020 for a name change/new SS card as I just recently got married. A month went by and I had not received any mail, email, or phone call from any SSA worker. I decided to call them, I was on hold for over an hour. I was polite and requested a simple update- the man said it was being processed and there was nothing left to do but “be patient and wait”. Great. November 2020 rolls around- I get the same guy who gives me the same information- “just wait”. It is now December and I finally received my marriage certificate back in the mail; so I’m thinking this is a good sign. I reach out this time and get in contact with a woman. She tells me my application was denied and my request was cancelled, due to missing information. However, no one ever notified me that I was missing any information the THREE times that I called!!! Mid January 2021- I decide to reapply and mail to a different location, the SSA office in Waxahachie. It is now early February and I officially have my new last name, new SS card, and received my marriage certificate back within 3 weeks (Keep in mind at least one week worth was for mailing). Moral of this story? DO NOT GO HERE- You will get better and faster service during the Covid 19 Pandemic at the Waxahachie office.

The NPCs

EXTREMELY RUDE. I changed my name back in December (have a receipt that said the change was processed and everything) and a new card was never sent to me. I've been trying to get a replacement online, it says my info doesn't match and locked me out of making an account. I called the line, and the lady said I had to SEND IN MY DRIVER'S LICENSE. I asked how I was supposed to drive, she said \I don't know\. She then said because I got my name changed that I should maybe send in my marriage license. I asked if I would get it back, she said maybe, I had to put in a note asking to send it back. I told her I don't trust this since they already didn't send me the card the first dang time and I was getting frustrated asking why she couldn't just send it to me since it wasn't sent the first time, and why wouldn't the online system let me in if I was giving the information. She started yelling that she \understood my frustrations\ but that she couldn't stay on the phone about this anymore and hung up on me. If this were not a necessary government service holding me hostage, I would never ever do business with them again. But you'd better believe that I'm going to a different freaking office from now on when they open back up. This isn't the first time I've tried to get this card situation fixed, and each time has been as \delightful\ as this one. I wish I had been able to understand her name when she said it but she was garbled and static-filled the whole time.

Do not go to this location!!! They are the rudest people I’ve encountered! I had to mail in my paperwork for a name change due to the pandemic and every time I’ve called to get an update they are so rude and seem so uninterested in doing their job. If you don’t like your job go look for another job please. They have no manners whatso ever and don’t even say bye at the end of the call. Very unprofessional
