This is a gem of an opportunity to learn the history of this geographic area, especially how people (traders and Native Americans) lived here in the early 1800’s!! There is much to see and do... the tours and interpreters are top notch - knowledgeable, entertaining, and sincere. The gift shop is wonderful with a diverse offering of souvenirs and all of the staff are warm and welcoming. I highly recommend visiting... I will be returning!

It’s a great place for bluegrass music events! Went for a roasted pork sandwich event and the band was perfect addition. Wondered the grounds but wished the full experience was included in the bluegrass band and food event price. The place is well taken care of, clean amenities, and friendly volunteers! It’s a must see for the north woods
Very organized and a lot of things to look at. The staff was very friendly and helpful. She helped us to pronounce the name correctly!
We have a cabin on the Yellow River north of Fort Folle Avoine it is a must stop if your driving by or enjoy a beautiful boat ride past! Always so nice to see the change of seasons!
It was a fun adventure to travel back to 1804 and the Voyageurs and Ojibway. If you visit in summer don't forget to put on some bug spray, the mosquitoes will get you if you don't.
