One of the best strings shops in the area. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. I get all my instruments repaired here. I play and teach violin, viola, cello and the double bass. They also do a great job re-hairing bows.

My experiences with Davidson Violins South have all been very positive, pleasant ones. These folks are the ultimate full service stringed instrument shop. They are my number one source of complete knowledge of stringed instruments. They've been very generous in assisting me with repairs to my violin. They are always ready to help, and the quality of their work and their advice and direction is comparable to none other in our area. You can trust that they will do everything possible to have your instrument sounding and performing it's very best. I know that they offer very fine instruments, and you can rest assured that yours is in top shape when it leaves their shop. I recommend them highly for their guidance on any of your specific stringed instrument needs.
I was very disappointed with this shop. I’m a professional cellist in Asheville, and went all the way to Pineville to get TONS of work done on my cello- seriously, I was prepared to spend 1500 or more there. They looked at my cello and told me they didn’t have any instruments to loan out in the mean time. That wouldn’t have worked obviously, so I was told that they would send me an official quote that day or the following Monday and to come back the following week to get the work done. (This was a two hour drive each way, by the way.) I never heard from them again. My follow up email was also ignored. I ended up spending my money and giving my business to another shop that was much more professional. Maybe this shop is great for kids and students, but I would definitely NOT recommend this shop for anyone outside of Charlotte or anyone who is a professional musician.
Very unsatisfactory. The Cello teacher needs to become more professional and committed towards keeping his word with class day schedule.
Phenomenal service. Had multiple bows rehaired and my violin set up by Davidson Violins and everything has been amazing. Their attention to detail and their customer service has been top notch. Could not recommend them enough for all of your orchestral string needs.
