While I appreciate everything they do for the community and trying to feed those in need this is one of the worse pantries to visit in Dekalb County! The people working there should visit other pantries to see how they do things. The location is very small and very inconvenient, the parking lot is so far away from the entry door. So you have to carry your groceries to your car which is okay but then they have the locked pole blocking things so if you have a cart with wheels guess you have to pull it in the snow. They allow people to come in and shop which is great but this woman literally took all 58 onions out the bin as I was waiting to just get one onion they really need some structure. It’s like people are hoarding the food and overly taking things they don’t need and not leaving anything for others. The number system is out of wack I made it there early one day so I can get in and get out only for them to give me number 22 even though I was first in line. That makes no type of sense and they should consider people who have no transportation I made it there early so the bus could come back and get me in an hour only to be number 22 and have to wait as ppl who made it there after me go ahead because they pulled a magic number. What’s so bad about having just a straight line or give numbers out in order of arrival SMH!!!! Some of the food is expired you have to just make wise choices when picking things. And as someone posted below yes they show favoritism to the Hispanic community! I visit this place as needed on the plus side the volunteers are nice and friendly.
