Horrible! No patience, dismissive, rushed through the appointment, very bad bedside manner, and not dressed professionally. Seemed to be in a bad mood while speaking with my mother who basically in tears bc of the pain she was in. No doctor should ever dismiss someone who is in tears. Ignoring my mother when she screamed in pain after touching her. It’s honestly disgusting that someone who is suppose to make people feel better makes them feel worse. It is now Friday, she’s still in pain and still no prescriptions at CVS. Her appointment was earlier this week. I’m not really sure who gave this man 5 stars. Not sure how his staff can be so nice and work for him.

Very disrespectful... I called while in pain and his response was “ Do I know you?” I said “no, but I’m in pain.” He said, “If you’re in pain, go to the emergency-room.” I can’t believe that insensitive people like him are allowed to treat people or practice medicine. I will be reporting him.
absolutely ridiculous surgeon. he wont let you finish your sentence and disregard anything you say. got an infection after his surgery and he keeps saying its not an infection when the emergency room said it was. wont give any pain meds he thinks tylenol and motrin can help with your skin being cut and cauterized. dont ever go to this surgeon
We had the WORST experience with Dr Held. His bed side manner is atrocious. What was supposed to be a 3-4 recovery turned into a 28 day hospital stay. We got no answers, we were just told that "we'll get to the bottom of this". Only the nurses and his PA actually looked at my fathers wound that got infected, he did not. He told my mom who didn't understand all of the medical terms that she was "just a laymen and wouldn't understand". Really?!??! Thankfully I am a nurse and could take the time to explain what he wouldn't. My parents made a follow up appointment when he was released and specifically made the appointment to see Dr Held. Did they? Nope... he sent is PA in. I work for a fellow Dr office that refers A LOT of patients to him, but I will be honest with those patients and recommend that they find a different doctor!!! He should just retire! As someone that works in the medical field I am disgusted by his manner.
If anyone need Colon and Rectal Surgery, Dr. Held is the doctor to go to. He had done countless of these surgeries. Nurses who have been working at Northshore surgical recovery room for years have nothing but praises for Doctor Held.... that he is definitely an expert in this field. Very pleasant to talk to. Dad have colon cancer , had 2 surgeries done by Dr. Held. Under his care , my dad who is 82 yrs old had nice recovery.
Trustworthy. The only one I want in the operating room. Thank you for my surgery on 3/04/17 at 3:15 pm . You are the answer to my prayers. May God bless you and your family.
