It took a long time to get our food, which wouldn't have been so bad had we not had plans after dinner. The food was good though. The braised short rib with pasta was very good. BYOB which I like, but they don't have ice pitchers to chill your wine which is disappointing.

Don't even know how to describe our experience last night. Had a reservation, was seated, given menus, water, had our wine poured. When our waitress came to take our orders she informed us they would only take cash. Should this not have been told to us before we were seated? Should this not have been mentioned when we made the reservation? We were lucky enough to walk across the street to Pearl, they were kind enough to seat us without a reservation and had a wonderful meal.
We went to Due South Bistro a couple of weeks ago for a much-needed date without the kids, and everything was wonderful. The service and the wait time were very appropriate, and the food was fantastic. I had a salad and salmon and my husband had something else (I don't remember what since we made use of the restaurant's BYO situation). We can't wait to go back.
I was very open to trying Due although no one talks about it in Ridgewood. My friend had been there under the previous management when it was small, before it moved. She said it was good and suggested it for the 6 of us on New Years - what a mistake. I was open to some bumps - BECAUSE it was New Years, but it was inexcusably bad. 1) they had just 2 wait staff for the entire restaurant and those poor people were new and clueless. 2) the hostess was utterly useless, just standing around and not helping anyone. 3) we had to wait an hour to get waited on - thank goodness we had good wine and good company but after a while, it was ridiculous. When they finally brought our meal, we were so hungry we would have eaten anything, but it was not even diner quality - COLD, sloppily presented, undercooked and mostly tasteless - just a disaster. The dessert was inedible. Clearly, they were unprepared for the evening, which was like any other evening in that the restaurant wasn't even full. That shows lack of professionalism and good business sense as none of us will ever patronize the restaurant again and would discourage others from going and wasting their money. If you want a real dining experience by chefs, I would recommend Cafe 37, just a few doors down, or pretty much any other restaurant in Ridegwood.
I have called their number about 20 different times. weekday, weekend, am and pm.....you get vm every time....no one calls you back. Its Insane. I finally emailed through their website and the owner replied and was just as useless as their vm messages . do yourself a favor...go elsewhere
Empty restaurant on weekday night. Only one waiter, overburdened with waiting 3-4 tables, no other stuff visible. Went with friends who bought a Groupon. Appetizers were OK, pasta dishes below average quality, especially for Italian restaurant. Entrees were simply not good, dried out salmon, over salted sauce. 2nd time there and will not be coming back. Taking into consideration competitive Ridgewood restaurant environment and overpriced menu, the fate of Due South Broad Bistro appears to be sealed. PS WiFi is available but the waiter could not recall the password :(
