I gave this 1 star because I can't give 0. I just returned home from the free walk-in appraisal at DuMouchelle. Now, I went knowing that the things I had were not of great historic or financial worth, but they are family heirlooms. I did not expect to be treated like I was asking them to appraise a child's macaroni statue. The older woman in a black dress at the front desk took me to the back of the store when I told her why I was there, and asked me to unpack my items. She actually picked up 2 of them to examine them (I had about 14 things), them put them down, waved her hand and said "there is nothing of value here" and walked back to the front desk. I have NEVER been treated so dismissively, condescendingly, shabbily in my life!! I will never take anything there to have it appraised, or consigned, nor will I ever bid on anything they are auctioning. I will say that the people that I spoke to on the phone when I called were most pleasant.

Very helpful to my client and warm and welcoming when I picked up as item that didn't sell.

Outstanding and professional, helpful employees. This place is very cool. I especially like the freshly painted look in the break room and I'm told the restrooms and back wall of the showroom will be done again soon. Beautiful!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I don't even know how they're still in business and I have no idea how they have so many positive reviews. My mother was in this afternoon to inquire about auctioning some jewelry and the lady flat out wouldn't even look at it. We had all of the appraisal information (the appraiser was actually who referred us to this place) and she looked at the paperwork and then at us and then back at the paperwork and rudely said "I don't want this!" When we asked why and if there was another place she could recommend who may be interested she just kept saying no and that she didn't want it. We have never auctioned anything before so was just hoping to learn how the process worked but she didn't even want to talk to us, she barely wanted to greet us. She basically kept looking at my mother as if she had stolen her own jewelry, at least that's how she felt. It was an awful experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'm also going to follow up with the appraiser to suggest that she stop sending her clients to this place.

Do NOT support this business. They are completely rude, unprofessional and do not care about their customers in the slightest. My boyfriend was extremely excited to come check this place out and we were finally able to go on Saturday only to be greeted with pure rudeness. We walked inside and there is a gate after the front door, my boyfriend was trying to pull it (as the sign says on the gate to pull), and the man behind the counter goes: “pull the gate. DON’T YOU KNOW HOW TO PULL???” It only got worse from that moment on. After entering, the same man behind the desk rudely told us about the exhibit they were featuring, confusing us as to what was really going on. About 5 or so minutes after browsing the first floor, my boyfriend asked a man if he worked there & the man replied yes, while starting to speed walk away from us in the middle of the conversation, my boyfriend then asked if the second floor was open & the worker said “Nope.” and then the worker flat out walked away! I actually cannot believe that these people think it’s okay to treat customers this way. I didn’t even want to leave a review but I’ve been thinking about it since Saturday and it is extremely upsetting to me. I will never spend a penny at this place.
